Dr. Mario DiPaola, CSO
Mario DiPaola serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at Hilltop BioSciences, bringing over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. A seasoned executive and scientist, Mario has founded or co-founded several companies including BlueStream Laboratories, Oncovolution, and Therabene, and has been instrumental in the development and regulatory filings of several approved drugs, including Alferon-N, Amevive, and Sucraid.
Mario holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus on biophysics from New York University and an MBA in Finance from Baruch College (CUNY). He completed postdoctoral fellowships at both Columbia University and NYU, and subsequently served as an Associate Research Professor at Columbia University, cementing a strong foundation in both academic research and applied science.
Throughout his career, Mario has authored or co-authored over 70 scientific publications and is a co-inventor on at least four U.S. patents, reflecting his sustained contributions to biotechnology innovation. His broad expertise spanning drug development, regulatory strategy, and entrepreneurship positions him as a driving force behind Hilltop BioSciences' scientific vision and pipeline advancement.
